Tottenham, Bayern Munich vying for Chris Fuhrich

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly compete with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich for 26-year-old VfB Stuttgart winger Chris Fuhrich this summer.

According to reputed German journalist Christian Falk, Chris Fuhrich is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The North London giants are scouring the market for an offensive reinforcement heading into the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the 26-year-old VfB Stuttgart winger is also a target for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

The rise of Chris Fuhrich

Chris Fuhrich has established himself as one of the most underrated wingers in the Bundesliga since joining VfB Stuttgart from SC Paderborn in July 2021. A native of Castrop-Rauxel, he spent his formative years with five clubs, graduating from the Rot-Weiß Oberhausen youth division.

However, the German winger had to bide his time before finding a stable footing in his career, with the move to VfB Stuttgart immensely helping him. The 26-year-old has also broken into his national team and enjoyed an exceptional 2023/24 campaign with Stuttgart, helping the club go from relegation battlers to top-four finishers.

Fuhrich contributed to 16 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions, finding the back of the net nine times while providing seven assists. Meanwhile, Fuhrich’s progress at VfB Stuttgart has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich are two of his prospective suitors.

Big summer move beckons?

Tottenham’s interest in Chris Fuhrich is understandable. The North London giants will likely make multiple offensive reinforcements in the summer transfer window. While they will prioritise signing a new striker, the club will also look for a wide attacker amid uncertainties surrounding the futures of Manor Solomon and Richarlison. Fuhrich has thus emerged as a viable target for Tottenham.

As for Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga giants are desperate to return to the summit of German football after finishing third in the league this season. In addition, Serge Gnabry faces an uncertain future at the Allianz Arena. So, Bayern Munich might sign a wide attacker in the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old VfB Stuttgart winger is also a target for other well-known clubs, including Chelsea. It will be interesting to see if the German international leaves Die Schwaben in the summer transfer window.
