Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle United vying for Federico Chiesa

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Federico Chiesa, who will cost around €40-45 million.

According to a report by Italian outlet Tutto Juve, Federico Chiesa is popular in the Premier League. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United are interested in the Juventus winger. Meanwhile, the Serie A giants want around €40-45 million to part ways with the Italian international in the summer transfer window.

Federico Chiesa and his journey so far

Federico Chiesa has been one of the best players in Serie A for nearly half a decade. A native of Genova, he is the son of former Italian international Enrico Chiesa and graduated from the youth division at Fiorentina. He rose in prominence during his spell at Stadio Artemio Franchi but has taken his performances to the next level at Juventus.

While the 26-year-old has struggled with a few fitness issues, he has been a pivotal figure for much of his spell with Juventus. However, Chiesa blew hot and cold in the 2023/24 season, managing only ten goals and three assists in 37 appearances across all competitions. But the Italian international’s stock remains as high as ever, with several high-profile clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United, interested in him.

A man in demand

At Arsenal, Mikel Arteta wants two top-quality options for every position. So, the North London club will delve into the market for a wide attacker in the summer transfer window, with Chiesa emerging as a viable target. As for Chelsea, the Blues are keen on signing a productive winger in the coming weeks.

Raheem Sterling, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Noni Madueke have blown hot and cold in the last 18 months, compelling Chelsea to scour the market for a wide attacker. The Juventus winger is thus an option worth considering. Meanwhile, Newcastle United’s interest in Federico Chiesa is understandable.

The Tyneside club will likely part ways with Miguel Almiron in the summer transfer window. So, Chiesa has emerged as a candidate to replace the Paraguayan international. Meanwhile, Juventus will demand around €40-45 million to part ways with the Italian international.

€40-45 million should be a fair valuation for an attacker in his prime. However, it will be interesting to see if Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United look to drive down the asking price in the summer transfer window.
