West Ham United have reportedly offered a base fee worth €29 million to sign Samu Omorodion from La Liga club Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window.
According to Spanish journalist Marcos Duran, Samu Omorodion is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are keen on signing a striker in the summer transfer window, with the 20-year-old emerging as a target. They have offered a base fee of €29 million plus €10 million in add-ons to land him. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid will demand €40 million to sell him.
Who is Samu Omorodion?
Samu Omorodion has established himself as one of the best young strikers in La Liga this season. A native of Melilla, he graduated from the Granada CF youth division before joining Atletico Madrid last summer. However, Los Rojiblancos loaned the Spanish youth international across La Liga to Deportivo Alaves.
The 20-year-old was not an undisputed first-choice starter for Alaves in the 2023/24 season. However, the young striker featured in all but one La Liga game when he was available, finding the back of the net nine times while providing one assist in 35 league games.
The Spaniard will return to Atletico Madrid this summer. However, he will unlikely establish a foothold in the first-team squad at the Civitas Metropolitano, with several well-known Premier League clubs keen on signing him in the summer transfer window. West Ham United will be one of the prospective suitors.

West Ham United’s interest in Samu Omorodion is understandable. The Hammers are keen on signing a striker in the summer transfer window, as Michail Antonio is past his peak, while Danny Ings has been an unreliable performer for them.
So, several candidates have emerged on West Ham’s radar over a possible move in the summer transfer window, with Omorodion being a viable target. However, the East London club’s opening bid, worth €29 million in base fee and €10 million in add-ons, has not done the trick, with Atletico Madrid demanding around €40 million to part ways with him.
