Liverpool in transfer tussle to sign Bento

Liverpool are one of four clubs pursuing a summer move for Atletico Paranaense’s Brazilian goalkeeper Bento Matheus.

According to Sports Zone on X, Liverpool are part of a four-way battle to sign Brazilian international goalkeeper Bento Mathues. Should Caoimhin Kelleher depart, the Reds could be in search of a new custodian, as Arne Slot will look to bring a new stopper to compete with Alisson.

Liverpool in Bento tussle

Liverpool will head in a new direction under new boss Arne Slot and the changes in the background, with a football operation model coming into effect. However, the Dutchman will look closely at some essential positions within his team to bring additional players to add competition for places.

For instance, Liverpool seem destined to lose Caoimhin Kelleher in the summer, with Celtic keen to take the Ireland international to replace Joe Hart. The Hoops are set to make an offer, and should they succeed, the Reds might have to find a replacement in the window.

They are already linked with a few stars, with 24-year-old Brazilian international Bento Matheus now emerging as a target for the Merseysiders. Liverpool could make a move for the Atletico Paranaense star, who has risen to prominence in recent months. The national side capped him in their two recent friendlies, although that was because of Alisson and Ederson’s absence from selection.

While Liverpool might dream about pairing two Brazilian international keepers together at club level, they will have to evade the challenge of three more clubs who are in the mix for the custodian ahead of the summer.

Four-way battle brewing for Bento

Liverpool might be the headline act in a reported four-way battle for Bento. But the competition must be considered at this stage. Italian pair Inter Milan and AC Milan are considering moves for the 24-year-old Brazilian international, with either side keen on adding to the position.

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are also keen on Bento as a competition for Jan Oblak. Hence, Liverpool will face lots of stumbling blocks in their pursuit of the 24-year-old Brazilian international, as an intense battle might brew in the background ahead of the summer window.
