Chelsea open to selling Omari Hutchinson, want £30 million from sale

Chelsea will be open to parting ways with Omari Hutchinson in the summer transfer window for a fee worth around £30 million.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Omari Hutchinson might not be a Chelsea player beyond the summer transfer window. The Blues are open to listening to offers worth around £30 million to part ways with the 20-year-old whizkid. However, Enzo Maresca will give him a chance to earn his stripes during the pre-season campaign.

Omari Hutchinson and his Chelsea journey so far

Chelsea had seemingly struck a coup when they signed Omari Hutchinson from Arsenal for a minimal fee in July 2022. A native of Redhill, he began his youth career at Charlton Athletic before joining Arsenal. However, the former England youth international finished his time in age-group football at Chelsea.

The 20-year-old made his first-team debut for Chelsea in January 2023 and has made another appearance for the West London club. However, Hutchinson spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Ipswich Town, chipping in with 11 goals and six assists in 50 outings across all competitions.

The youngster, who has chosen to represent Jamaica on the international stage, played his part as Ipswich Town returned to the Premier League after over two decades. So, it is hardly surprising that the Tractor Boys want to complete a permanent move for Hutchinson in the summer transfer window.

What next?

Recent reports have claimed that Chelsea will look to hand Omari Hutchinson a new contract in the coming weeks. However, the latest update has revealed that the 20-year-old might not have a long-term future at the West London club. The Blues are open to listening to offers for the highly-rated attacker in the summer transfer window.

Ajax and Feyenoord are keen on taking the Jamaican international to the Eredivisie. In addition, Hutchinson is a target for mid-table Premier League clubs. Meanwhile, Chelsea will demand around £30 million to part ways with the young winger.

However, Enzo Maresca will give Hutchinson a fair opportunity to stake a claim in the first-team squad at Chelsea heading into the summer transfer window. Failure to do that will mean Chelsea will seek a deal worth £30 million to part ways with the 20-year-old.
