Omari Forson set to leave Manchester United as a free agent

Omari Forson is eager to embark on a new adventure and will reportedly leave Manchester United as a free agent in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Daily Mail, Omari Forson will not be a Manchester United player beyond the summer transfer window. The Red Devils were desperate to keep hold of the 19-year-old versatile attacker. However, he wants to embark on a new adventure heading into the 2024/25 season.

Who is Omari Forson?

Omari Forson is the latest Manchester United academy graduate to rise in prominence at the Premier League club. A native of London, the teenage prospect began his youth career at West Ham United before joining Tottenham Hotspur. However, he has come leaps and bounds since joining Manchester United in January 2019.

The 19-year-old has gone from strength to strength in the last half a decade, rising through the ranks at Manchester United while breaking into the under-20 on the international stage. Meanwhile, Forson made his first-team debut for Manchester United in the 2023/24 season, with Erik ten Hag being an admirer of his talent.

The Englishman made seven first-team appearances for Manchester United this past season, providing an assist while amassing 88 minutes of game time. However, the Red Devils have been in a spot of bother over Forson’s long-term future due to his contract situation.

New adventure on the horizon?

Manchester United had submitted an offer to Omari Forson, hoping to keep hold of him beyond the summer transfer window. However, the youngster’s representatives have informed the Red Devils that he will depart from Old Trafford as a free agent in the summer transfer window.

The report does not mention any prospective suitors looking to secure Omari Forson’s services. However, Manchester United can recoup a compensation fee from the young attacker’s exit. Nevertheless, it is a blow for Erik ten Hag and his team, considering the Dutchman rated him highly.

Meanwhile, with Manchester United ready to part ways with Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood, and Antony, they will have to delve into the market for a right-sided attacker heading into the summer transfer window. It will be interesting to see where Forson lands in the summer transfer window.
