Juventus will demand a combined fee of around €65 million to part ways with Matias Soule and Weston McKennie in the summer transfer window.
According to Italian journalist Luca Momblano, as relayed by Calciomercato, Matias Soule and Weston McKennie are the subjects of interest from Aston Villa. However, the Juventus duo will not come cheap, as the Serie A giants want a combined fee of around €65 million to part ways with them in the summer transfer window.
Matias Soule, Weston McKennie and their uncertain futures
Matias Soule has had to bide his time since joining Juventus from Velez Sarsfield in January 2020. The Argentine attacking prospect graduated from the Serie A club’s youth division but has yet to establish a foothold in the first-team squad at the Allianz Stadium. Instead, he has risen in prominence during his loan spell with Frosinone this season.
The 21-year-old has amassed 11 goals and three assists in 39 appearances for Frosinone this season. However, that still might not be enough for him to establish a foothold in the first-team squad, with the situation alerting Aston Villa. As for Weston McKennie, the USMNT international has resurrected his fortunes in the 2023/24 campaign.
The 25-year-old was a regular for Juventus after returning from a loan spell at Leeds United, amassing nearly 3,000 minutes of game time across 38 appearances, chipping in with ten assists. However, McKennie’s future at the Allianz Stadium is uncertain, with several well-known clubs across Europe, including Aston Villa, interested in him.
Aston Villa interested in the duo
Aston Villa’s interest in Matias Soule and Weston McKennie is understandable. The Villans are scouring the market for a wide attacker and a versatile midfielder heading into the summer transfer window. So, McKennie can replace Nicolo Zaniolo, whose loan stint at Villa Park was a disaster.
As for Soule, he can be a top-notch addition to the Aston Villa attack ahead of the upcoming campaign in the UEFA Champions League. However, Soule and McKennie will cost a bomb, with Juventus demanding around €65 million to part ways with the duo in the summer transfer window.
The asking price can pose a problem for Aston Villa, considering they will delve into the market for multiple signings in the summer transfer window. So, it will be interesting to see if they cough up €65 million to sign the Juventus duo.
