Newcastle United plot £15 million move for Aaron Ramsdale

Newcastle United reportedly planned to make a £15 million offer to sign Aaron Ramsdale, but the Gunners are certainly likely to demand more.

According to The Telegraph, Newcastle United are willing to make a £15 millixon move for Aaron Ramsdale at the end of the summer. At that point, the Gunners are unlikely to sanction a move, although it could open up a channel between the two sides for further negotiations.

Is Newcastle United ready to make Aaron Ramsdale’s bid?

Aaron Ramsdale has been a disgruntled figure at Arsenal since the start of the season. While he seemed desperate to be the club’s No.1 under Mikel Arteta at the very start of the campaign, the arrival of David Raya changed everything for the England InternationalInternational.

Raya, who was recently awarded the Golden Glove for keeping the most clean sheets, is likely to make the move permanent, while the Gunners are aware Ramsdale might look to leave. However, Arsenal would want decent value for the keeper, who has a long-term contract at the Emirates, which was signed well before the end of the 2022-23 season.

Newcastle United has been interested in the keeper for some time now as they are planning on having a good long-term project in place. They probably don’t see Nick Pope as part of the plan, whereas Ramsdale offers a long-term solution for their project.

The report suggests the Magpies are ready to offer £15 million for the England goalkeeper, something that needs to sound better with his current valuation. The Gunners paid around £24 million plus add-ons, which could take the deal to £30 million. Hence, Arsenal is unlikely to accept any agreement in the range the report suggests; instead, they will demand significantly more, which will see them at least make a profit from their investment.

Will Arsenal sell Ramsdale on the cheap?

With Financial fairness playing a significant role in the transfer dealings of forgery clubs, why would a club like Arsenal, w, which is reportedly on the edge of FFP, sell one of their prized assets on the cheap?? Despite the report suggesting Newcastle United will offer £15 million for Ramsdale, it’s difficult to see the Gunners going anywhere close to agreeing on a deal.

Hence, the Gunners are likely to agree to any deal that offers financial security in selling a player of Ramsdale’s ilk and also making a profit
