Arsenal advance talks with Benjamin Sesko over summer move

Arsenal and Chelsea target Benjamin Sesko have reportedly advanced talks over a possible move in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Caught Offside, Benjamin Sesko is the subject of interest from Arsenal. The Gunners have advanced discussions with the RB Leipzig striker over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The Slovenian international, who will cost around €50 million, is also a target for Chelsea.

How has Benjamin Sesko fared at RB Leipzig?

Benjamin Sesko has established himself as one of the best young strikers in the world in the last few years. The 20-year-old rose in prominence during his stint with Red Bull Salzburg before joining the Austrian giants’ sister club RB Leipzig last summer in a deal worth around €24 million.

The Slovenian international endured a frustrating start to life at RB Leipzig, having struggled to become a first-choice starter for the Bundesliga outfit. However, Sesko has grown in stature in the last few weeks to amass a solid record of 17 goals and two assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Sesko’s stock in the market remains as high as ever, with several well-known clubs across Europe keen on signing him in the summer transfer window. A move to the Premier League might be on the cards, with Arsenal and Chelsea vying for his signature. Meanwhile, the RB Leipzig striker will cost around €50 million.

London calling?

Arsenal’s interest in Benjamin Sesko is understandable. The Gunners are scouring the market for a striker heading into the summer transfer window due to the wastefulness of Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah. So, several candidates have emerged on Arsenal’s radar, with Sesko also a viable target. And the North London giants have advanced talks with the 20-year-old over a possible summer move.

As for Chelsea, the Blues will dip their toes in the market for a striker in the summer transfer window. However, Sesko is not the top target for the West London club, with Victor Osimhen being at the top of the wishlist. However, Chelsea will launch the offensive for the Slovenian international if they fail to sign their top targets.

With Arsenal in advanced talks with Sesko over a possible summer move, a deal might be on the cards. The youngster will not cost a bomb either, and Arsenal should have the funds to pay €50 million and secure the services of the Chelsea target.
