Real Madrid have reportedly knocked back a €45 million offer from Arsenal for their 19-year-old wonderkid Arda Guler.
According to Fichajes, Arsenal have reportedly seen a €45 million offer rejected by Real Madrid for Arda Guler. The Spanish giants have no intention of parting ways with the 19-year-old wonderkid so soon, although they might open their doors for a loan move to aid his development.
Real Madrid reject Arsenal’s bid for Arda Guler
Real Madrid signed Arda Guler from Fenerbahce last summer, paying a low-money sum to secure his services. Florentino Perez reportedly obliged a request from the player’s camp to pay that extra fee to help the Turkish giants.
Guler had many clubs chasing his signature, but Perez saw him as an integral part of his future project. Despite barely playing any games for the club since arriving from Fenerbahce, the 19-year-old wonderkid has been able to showcase his talent with only some brief appearances, including a tally of four goals, three of which have come in the last four games.
The latest report states that Arsenal have had a €45 million bid rejected by Real Madrid, who have no interest in selling him this summer or probably even next. The Gunners are clearly in the market for a young, emerging attacking midfielder, having recently been linked witih Xavi Simons.
As for Guler, Arsenal may not have a chance, and the rejected bid shows that Real Madrid are not interested in immediately doubling their money on a player who has had injury issues throughout the season. The 19-year-old wonderkid may yet leave the club, but only on a loan to aid his development.
Real Madrid to consider loan bids for Guler?
Real Madrid signed the 19-year-old wonderkid on a long-term contract until 2029, and they would only offer such a big contract to someone they want to keep for the future. Meanwhile, they are not opposed to sending him out on loan for a single season to aid his development and might consider some of the offers they have received from La Liga sides.
Real Betis are also interested and could give Guler a good amount of game time should he make the switch. In any case, both Real Madrid and the 19-year-old wonderkid see a big future at the Santiago Bernabeu, and that will be the case going into the summer window.
