Atletico Madrid might offer Joao Felix as part of a swap deal to sign Vitor Roque from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Vitor Roque is the subject of interest from Atletico Madrid. The Colchoneros are keen on signing the 19-year-old disgruntled Barcelona attacker in the summer transfer window. And they are ready to offer Joao Felix in an exchange deal to Barcelona.
Vitor Roque and his growing frustrations
Vitor Roque has endured a frustrating spell since joining Barcelona from Athletico Paranaense in January 2024. The teenage sensation would have hoped to secure regular game time at the Catalan club, especially after Barcelona lost the league title to Real Madrid and bowed out of the cup competitions.
However, game time has come at a premium for the 19-year-old, who has managed only 310 minutes of action thus far this season. That the Brazilian international has found the back of the net twice despite barely featuring for Barcelona justifies the heavy investment in him. However, Vitor Roque’s Barcelona stint might end in the summer transfer window.
The youngster’s agent has threatened a permanent exit in the summer transfer window if things do not improve. On the other hand, Joao Felix joined Barcelona on loan from Atletico Madrid on Deadline Day last summer. The Portuguese international has been a solid performer for the Blaugrana. However, he has lost prominence in the first-team squad in recent weeks.
Set to leave Barcelona in a swap deal?
The latest report has suggested that Atletico Madrid will look to sign Vitor Roque in a swap deal involving Joao Felix. After a few run-ins with the Atletico Madrid manager, the 24-year-old is not in Diego Simeone’s plans. So, with Vitor Roque’s agent making some controversial comments, an exchange might be on the cards.
Recent reports have claimed that Barcelona will demand around €45 million to part ways with the 19-year-old wonderkid. With Atletico Madrid having a similar price for Joao Felix, a swap deal might be on the cards.
However, it might not be sensible for Barcelona to bolster a rival club by selling the disgruntled teenage sensation to Atletico Madrid, even if they can secure Joao Felix’s services on a permanent deal.
