Former Manchester United prodigy Angel Gomes is reportedly a target for Tottenham Hotspur heading into the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Angel Gomes is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The North London giants are scouring the market for a versatile midfielder heading into the summer transfer window. The 23-year-old LOSC Lille star has thus emerged as a target for Tottenham.
The Angel Gomes resurgence story
Angel Gomes has gone from strength to strength since leaving Manchester United as a free agent in 2020, joining LOSC Lille in a Bosman move. A native of London, he spent his formative years with Manchester United, having joined the Premier League club as a six-year-old in 2000.
The 23-year-old was one of the most promising young players in England in his youth career and made his first-team debut for Manchester United in May 2017. However, regular game time came at a premium for the former England youth international. So, it was hardly surprising when he left Manchester United as a free agent nearly four years ago.
The London native has grown in stature during his spell with LOSC Lille and has amassed 3,385 minutes of game time across 44 appearances across all competitions thus far this season. Gomes has made his mark, chipping in with two goals and ten assists. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress at the Ligue 1 club has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Tottenham.

Tottenham’s interest in Angel Gomes is understandable.
