Tottenham Hotspur willing to sell Emerson Royal amid AC Milan links

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to part ways with Emerson Royal amidst interest in his services from AC Milan.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via SportWitness, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to sanction the departure of Emerson Royal. The Brazilian defender has had limited game time at the club during the course of the ongoing season, and they are looking to cash in on him amidst interest from AC Milan.

Emerson Royal to leave Tottenham?

Emerson joined Tottenham in the summer of 2021 after things did not work out for him at Barcelona. The Brazilian international had a significant role in their first team until last season but he has gone down the pecking order under the leadership of Ange Postecoglou.

The right-back has been used by the Australian manager across the backline but he only has a total of 23 appearances and has racked up less than 1,400 minutes of first-team football. Since the turn of the calendar, the 25-year-old full-back has only featured in six league games.

With his surplus to requirements, Tottenham are looking to cash in on him. The North London club are expected to undergo major changes in the summer which will see quite a few players leave and Emerson is expected to be one of them.

AC Milan keen on Emerson Royal

AC Milan are the ones keen on having the Brazilian international in their ranks. The Italian giants want to sign a quality right-back in the summer who can also contribute in other defensive positions. The Tottenham defenders clearly fit the bill and are a top priority for Milan.

They have been following him for a long while and have also held talks with his representatives in recent weeks. While Milan are keen on his signature and have started making moves, they have a big hurdle in front of them.

Tottenham never shy away from putting forward a big asking price for their player and they are looking for €30 million for their full-back who still has two years left on his deal at the club. The asking price is very high for the Italian giants and they will have to figure out a way to convince Spurs to lower it if they want to get their hands on the Brazilian defensive star.
