According to a report by Albert Fernandez of GOL, Antonio Nusa is the subject of interest from Barcelona. The Catalan giants are scouring the market for an offensive reinforcement heading into the summer transfer window. And the 19-year-old highly-rated Club Brugge forward has emerged as a target for the Blaugrana.
The rise of Norwegian prodigies
Norway has produced several promising prospects in the last few years. Martin Odegaard and Erling Haaland were the original flag bearers of the latest generation of top-class Norwegian talent. And recent months have heralded the advent of Antonio Nusa, Oscar Bobb, Andreas Schjelderup, and Isak Hansen-Aaroen, among others.
Speaking of Nusa, he has been a popular figure in the market since the summer transfer window of 2023. The 19-year-old has been a regular for Club Brugge in the last 12 months and has turned out 42 times thus far this term. Nusa to Barcelona?
Barcelona’s interest in Antonio Nusa is understandable. The Blaugrana might part ways with Raphinha and Ferran Torres in the summer transfer window amid the never-ending financial woes. The duo can help Barcelona balance the books while funding moves for summer targets.
However, Barcelona will need to replace Raphinha and Torres if they depart in the summer, with several candidates, including Nico Williams, emerging as target. Nusa is also a viable target for the Catalan outfit, although they will have to be patient with him.
Nusa has the talent to become a long-term solution for Barcelona for a decade. However, with Premier League clubs also keen on signing the highly-rated 19-year-old Norwegian forward, the race to secure his services should heat up.
