Newcastle United are looking to acquire the services of Boca Juniors midfield sensation Kevin Zenon in the summer.
According to a report from Bolavip, Newcastle United have started to plan for the upcoming transfer window and they have their eyes set on Kevin Zenon. The Argentine midfielder has been in sensational form of late and the Magpies are looking to sign him in the summer.
Zenon made a name for himself at Unión Santa Fe before joining Boca Juniors at the start of the year. The Argentine giants signed the 22-year-old as a replacement for Valentin Barco who made the move to Brighton in the winter after his release clause was triggered.
Since making the move to Boca, Zenon has featured in 19 matches and he has contributed towards seven goals (3 goals, 4 assists). The versatile midfielder has made quite a name for himself thanks to his consistent performances and European clubs are ready to prise him away from Argentina in the summer.
His contract with Boca Juniors runs until the end of 2028 and the club has no intentions of parting ways with Zenon in the upcoming transfer window. They want to have him in their ranks for at least one full season. But, Newcastle are one of the clubs keen on his signature and they have the financial power to make things happen.
Newcastle United want to sign Zenon
The Magpies have a long-standing interest in the 22-year-old and have been scouting him in the recent past. They have been following him since his days at Union and his performances for Boca have intensified their interest. They are all set to knock on the Argentine club’s door in the summer.
Newcastle feel the Argentine youth international could be a great addition to their ranks. While he prefers playing as a left-midfielder, he can feature on both flanks and can even play as an attacking midfielder if needed.
While Boca Juniors do not intend to negotiate his departure, there is a $15 million in his current contract and the Magpies can surely afford to trigger it. Boca are considering offering him a new deal which will raise the termination clause but they will have to make it happen quickly if they want to keep hold of Zenon.
