Casemiro in talks to sign Al-Nassr this summer

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has been linked with a summer move away from the Premier League club.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, struggling Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is now in talks with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr regarding a summer move.

Previously, former Manchester United attacker Cristiano Ronaldo joined the Saudi Arabian club, and it remains to be seen whether Casemiro can secure a reunion with Ronaldo in the summer. The two players have played together at Real Madrid in the past as well.

Casemiro is undoubtedly one of the best defensive midfielders in the world. But the veteran midfielder has been quite underwhelming this season. It seems that the Brazilian international is on the decline, and now might be the right time for Manchester United to get rid of him and invest in a younger alternative.

In addition, Casemiro earns £350,000 per week in wages at Old Trafford, and selling him would free up the wage bill for Manchester United as well. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo has previously urged Al-Nassr to secure his former teammate’s services. There is no doubt that Manchester United need to rebuild their midfield unit this summer.

Kobbie Mainoo is the only reliable performer at their disposal right now, and they need to bring in multiple midfielders this summer. Sofyan Amrabat will leave the club upon the expiry of his loan deal, and Scott McTominay has been linked with an exit as well. It will be interesting to see if Manchester United can replace Casemiro adequately.

Casemiro needs to move on

The Brazilian international has proven himself in European football over the years, and he has helped Real Madrid win multiple trophies. He impressed in the Premier League initially as well, but his form has regressed over the last few months.

Moving to Saudi Arabia would be ideal for him at this stage of his career, and he could enjoy the final few years of his career in the Saudi Pro League. The transfer would also allow him to secure a lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia.

It remains to be seen whether all parties can secure an agreement quickly. Manchester United have had a disappointing season, and they need to improve their squad during the summer transfer window.

It will be interesting to see if they can get rid of the fringe players and bring in quality alternatives during the summer transfer window. There is no doubt that they have the financial ability to sign quality players, and it remains to be seen whether they can plug the gaps in their squad.

Casemiro is in the twilight stages of his career, and the intensity of the Premier League might not be best suited for him right now. A move to an inferior league with lesser intensity would be ideal, and he could get his career back on track in Saudi Arabia.
