West Ham United are reportedly plotting a Bosman move for the 25-year-old Coventry City midfielder Callum O’Hare.
According to a report by The Guardian, West Ham United are interested in acquiring the services of Callum O’Hare. The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has been in sensational form this season, and the Hammers are looking to sign him as a free agent ahead of next season.
Callum O’Hare’s time at Coventry City
O’Hare was a part of the Aston Villa youth ranks back in the day. While he failed to break into their first team, the 25-year-old had an impressive loan spell at Coventry City 2019/20 season, following which he secured a permanent move to the Championship club.
The former England youth international has gone from strength to strength since joining Coventry City, and he has been in exceptional form over the past 18 months. In the ongoing season, the versatile midfielder has featured in 34 matches and has contributed with ten goals and four assists.
While he has been a consistent performer for them, he might not have a future at the Championship club beyond this season. His contract runs out at the end of the season and he is not really interested in penning down a new deal.
West Ham pushing for O’Hare’s signature
O’Hare wants to part ways with the club and could end up making a move to the Premier League, with West Ham United keen on having him in their squad. The Hammers feel he is an ideal fit for the club, and his ability to feature in multiple positions could be a great boost for them.
West Ham are preparing themselves for a big summer transfer window where they will look to refresh their ageing squad by signing around six to eight players. They are in need of bolstering their homegrown quota and are looking at English talents in the EFL Championship.
The East Londoners are admirers of O’Hare and are impressed with the data related to the 25-year-old. His ability to feature through the middle as well as the left flank is what attracts them. Moreover, with his contract expiring at the end of the season, they do not need to fork out a penny to sign him.
