English youth international Charlie Patino is all set to part ways with Arsenal in the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to a report by Pianeta Milan, Charlie Patino is ready to end his stay at Arsenal this summer. The 20-year-old midfielder is looking for a better opportunity elsewhere and has no intentions to extend his stay at the North London club.
Patino joined Arsenal youth academy in the summer of 2015 from Luton. While he has gone from strength to strength over the years, the 20-year-old has failed to break into their first team. He has been subject to multiple loan spells and is currently on loan at Swansea in the English second tier.
The England youth international has been handed quite a few opportunities at Swansea and he has managed to put in some impressive performances. In his 1,320 minutes of first-team action across 33 appearances, Patino has been used as a central midfielder as well as an attacking midfielder and he has contributed towards eight goals.
Charlie Patino wants to leave Arsenal
His performances have attracted a lot of interest and he is expected to be on the move in the upcoming summer transfer window. The 20-year-old will return to his parent club in the summer but he has no intentions of continuing at the North London club.
His contract with the Gunners runs out this summer and he doesn’t want to sign an extension. Patino wants to play regular first-team football and he is aware of the fact that he is unlikely to break into the Arsenal squad.
As a result, he has asked his representatives to find him a new club where he can continue his development and get regular first-team action. With the 20-year-old midfielder available for free, there is no shortage of interest in him.
Multiple clubs in Italy are keeping a close eye on his situation and could make a move in the upcoming summer transfer window. They see it as a great opportunity to sign an exciting talent that too for free. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if Patino wants to move to Italy or look for opportunities elsewhere.
