Donny van de Beek was an exciting signing for Manchester United and their fans, as they had hoped he would bring his rich vein of form from Ajax. Instead, his time at Old Trafford has been catastrophic, as he has regressed over the years.
What was more baffling was his failure to make an impact under former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag, who has sometimes completely ignored the midfielder for other choices. Van de Beek has since left for Eintracht Frankfurt on loan, but the German outfit are not keen on making his signing permanent.
He was again expected to revive his career under a much less pressure-oriented surrounding in Germany but has barely made an impact. Hence, the Bundesliga club have no interest in extending his stay, meaning he will return to Manchester United to go through another ordeal about his future.
Manchester United will then decide whether to send him out on another loan or find a suitor they can convince to pay a fee for the beleaguered midfielder.
