Thiago Alcantara undecided on Liverpool future

Trabzonspor eyeing late move for Thiago Alcantara.

32-year-old Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara is yet to make a decision regarding his future at Liverpool.

According to a report by CaughtOffside, Thiago Alcantara’s future at Liverpool is uncertain. The 46-cap Spanish international midfielder has struggled with injuries since the start of the 2023/24 season and with his contract running out, his future remains a huge talking point.

Thiago’s time at Liverpool

Thiago joined Liverpool after proving himself in Spain and Germany with Barcelona and Bayern Munich respectively. He made the move to the Merseyside club in the summer of 2020 and has been an integral part of their first team ever since.

He has featured in a total of 98 matches for the club. While he is one of the best players in their squad, the 32-year-old hasn’t really had the best of times of late. He has struggled with injuries. He was out of the first half of the season with a hip injury.

Thiago did make a comeback in February but it only lasted around five minutes as he picked up yet another muscle injury. It has been a very tough season for the former Bayern midfielder. And, with his contract running out at the end of the season, his future isn’t certain yet.

Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of the 32-year-old and has always found a place for him in his team. But, with Klopp leaving, it will be interesting to see if the Reds are willing to offer him a new deal in the first place.

Thiago Alcantara hasn’t decided on his future

Even if they do offer him a new deal, Thiago has yet to decide on whether he wants to continue at the club or not. He is waiting to see what kind of changes the club undergoes before the summer. They are not only looking for a new boss but there are other key areas where they are looking to make appointments.

Once those decisions are made, the Spanish midfielder will decide where to play his football next season. Despite his recent injury crisis, there is no shortage of interest in his services from Europe as well as other parts of the world. But, nothing is concrete yet and the player will take time before deciding his future.
