Loic Bade has no interest in returning to the Premier League amid Tottenham’s interest, as the defender is pleased at Sevilla.
Estadio Deportivo insists Loic Bade has no interest in moving to the Premier League amid Tottenham’s interest. The defender is seemingly happy with life at Sevilla and harbours ambition to play for the French national side.
Tottenham dealt Loic Bade a blow
Tottenham have progressive plans under Ange Postecoglou that may see the club spend considerably in the summer window. Part of the manager’s plan may involve bringing in a defender to shore up his backline. Back in January, Spurs considered several options for the central defensive position and ended up signing Radu Dragusin from Sevilla.
During that crunch period, when negotiating for the Romanian defender, the Spurs may have tapped on other names, as they held an interest in Loic Bade. The former Nottingham Forest defender does not have fond memories of the Premier League and did not indicate any signs of a return to England.
Spurs might have considered him an alternative of sorts, with Dragusin being their primary target last month. While there are further rumours that Tottenham have not lost sight of Bade, they might have already suffered a setback should they choose to pursue the Frenchman in the summer.
Bade remains a happy figure at Sevilla and is seemingly enjoying his time in Spain. Not only is the football suiting the defender to play with his style, but he also continues to feature regularly for the La Liga side. Hence, as per the report, he has no interest in leaving the club despite Tottenham’s reported interest in the Frenchman.
Bade eyes France call up
Bade might have a strong future ahead, and while he remains a happy figure at Sevilla, the defender does harbour big ambitions for his career. This is not to say that Bade will remain with Sevilla for a long time. Currently, his focus is to get into the French national side.
Joining a club like Tottenham or any other big Premier League side might see him play less, especially if those teams have a settled backline. Hence, with his chances coming with regularity at Sevilla, Bade barely has any reasons to leave the club, particularly as he wants to break into the France national side.
