Crystal Palace are reportedly keen on signing the Portuguese attacker Jota at the end of the season.
A report from TEAMtalk claims that the Eagles have now joined the race to sign the £25 million Portuguese international and they will face competition from Premier League rivals, West Ham United.
Jota moved to Saudi Arabia club Al-Ittihad during the summer transfer window, but he has not been part of their first-team squad because of the regulations limiting the number of foreign players in the side.
His move to Saudi Arabia has turned into a nightmare and he needs to leave in order to play regularly. He has been linked with the move to the Premier League in recent months and it will be interesting to see if Crystal Palace can secure his services in the coming months.
The Eagles need to bring in attacking reinforcements and the 24-year-old will add goals and creativity to the site. He can operate as a winger as well as a centre-forward. His versatility will be an added bonus for the Eagles.
Jota is entering the peak of his career and he cannot afford to sit on the sidelines. He will need to play regularly in order to fulfil his potential and move to the Premier League would be ideal for him. Crystal Palace can certainly provide him with opportunity to showcase his qualities at a high-level on a regular basis.
West Ham could be a tempting option
Meanwhile, West Ham United need to bring in a quality attacker as well and the former Celtic star would be a superb addition. A move to West Ham will probably be a more attractive option for the player.
The Hammers managed to win the UEFA Europa conference league last year and they are competing in the UEFA Europa league this season. They are currently pushing for European qualification for the next season as well. They are a club with a better team and more resources.
It will be interesting to see if Al-Ittihad are prepared to cash in on the player at the end of the season. If they cannot accommodate him in the first team, it would make sense for all parties to go their separate ways.
