Liverpool are reportedly willing to offer €50 million to sign Andreas Christensen, although Barcelona have not decided on his future.
According to Fichajes, Liverpool are interested in Andreas Christensen ahead of the summer and are willing to pay around €50 million for the Danish defender. The 27-year-old utility man has been good at Barcelona, with the Blaugrana yet to make a firm decision on his long-term future at the club.
Liverpool ready to pay €50 million for Andreas Christensen
Liverpool will see the end of the Jurgen Klopp era and hope to keep up with the excellent work done by their German gaffer. However, the Reds are already planning to strengthen their squad, even without narrowing down on the replacement for Klopp in the summer.
The Merseysiders would certainly think about making changes to their backline, although for the time being, only a few additions are considered. That includes bringing in a new centre-back with the capability of playing different roles if needed.
Andreas Christensen has emerged as a target, with Barcelona yet to decide on their key defender. The 27-year-old utility man has been a fantastic signing. However, his arrival on a Bosman move would ideally make him susceptible to a big sale that could generate massive profit for the Catalans in such a difficult financial period.
Liverpool are ready to further their interest and offer a reported €50 million for the Danish centre-back. Barcelona would sell for €60 million as per a previous report, although in truth, the Catalans have not yet made a firm decision on the future of the 27-year-old utility man.
Andreas Christensen to stay at Barcelona?
In the current financial state Barcelona find themselves in, one might assume the sale of Christensen would make complete sense for the club. Alternatively, the Blaugrana may feel that the lack of investment in bringing their defender and his subsequent good performances might warrant a stay for him at the club.
Manchester United are also keen, and with Liverpool in the mix, Barcelona will likely listen to the offers that arrive before taking the call on the Dane. Things could get complicated if Christensen decides to stay, although that would not be something the Catalans are totally opposed to at the moment.
