Arsenal have been linked with a move for the Brentford striker Ivan Toney.
The 27-year-old striker is reportedly a target for the north London club at the end of the season and the report from Fichajes claims that they would be willing to shell out €70 million for the player.
Brentford reportedly value the striker at €80 million and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can reach a compromise. The difference in valuation between the two clubs is minimal and therefore an agreement could be reached.
Toney has established himself as one of the best strikers in the Premier League and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for Arsenal.
It is no secret that the Gunners need to bring in a reliable goal scorer at the end of the season. Gabriel Jesus has managed to score just 4 goals in the league this season and Arsenal will need a player of better quality leading their attack if they want to win major trophies.
Toney will want to play at the highest level and the opportunity to join Arsenal will be an attractive one for him. It would be a major step up from Brentford. The striker recently returned from his suspension and he has already impressed in his recent outings.
There is no doubt that he is a proven performer in the Premier League and he could transform Arsenal in the attack.
The reported asking price seems quite steep but Arsenal’s willingness to pay close to that amount certainly gives them a great chance of completing the deal at the end of the season.
Arsenal pushed for the title last season and they are very much in the title race this year as well. Bringing in the right players during the summer transfer window could help them with major trophies in the coming seasons.
Toney is at the peak of his powers right now and he will wants to compete for major trophies. Competing for the league title and the Champions league will certainly be an attractive option for him.
