West Ham United rejected January approach for Jarrod Bowen

West Ham United rejected an offer worth around £50 million for their England international Jarrod Bowen during the January window.

According to a report by HITC, West Ham United were in no mood to negotiate the departure of Jarrod Bowen during the recently-concluded winter transfer window, and they rejected an offer worth around £50 million. While he remains integral to the Hammers’ plans moving ahead, there is interest from across Europe in the England international.

The Rise and Rise of Jarrod Bowen

After showcasing his potential at Hull City, Bowen made the move to West Ham in the winter of 2020. Since joining the Premier League club, he has gone from strength to strength and currently, he is amongst their best players.

The 27-year-old right winger has been on fire in the ongoing season. He has featured in a total of 22 league games and has managed to contribute towards 13 goals. His impressive performances over the past few seasons have attracted a lot of attention.

Interest in Bowen Rising

West Ham were aware of the situation but they were in no mood to let Jarrod Bowen leave. The Hammers managed to secure Bowen to a long-term contract as he penned down a six-and-a-half-year deal back in October.

Despite the England international pledging his immediate future to the club, there was an offer put on the table for his services. While details regarding who made the offer have not been confirmed, an offer worth around £50 million did arrive on the doorsteps of the English club. But they immediately knocked it back and made their intentions clear.

The Hammers have no intention to negotiate Bowen’s departure, and the offer was not even considered by chairman David Sullivan. He is not for sale and the club interested did not return with an improved bid as per the report.

While West Ham have no intentions to sell, there is still interest in him from Arsenal are Liverpool. The Reds could part ways with Mohamed Salah in the summer as he is linked with a move to the Middle East. His departure will leave a huge void and Bowen can surely help fill that.

As far as Arsenal are concerned, they do have Bukayo Saka in their ranks but need depth in that area. Bowen will be a great addition as he can cover for Saka and even start as a striker or a second-striker. While both Premier League giants are keen, it won’t be easy to prise him away from West Ham.
