Manchester United open to Jadon Sancho return to first-team picture

Manchester United are reportedly open to the possibility of having Jadon Sancho back in the side after the current season.

According to Football Insider, Manchester United is not ruling out a possible return for Jadon Sancho after his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund. Erik Ten Hag banished the 23-year-old from first-team action and has since left the club on a temporary basis, although he could still have a future at Old Trafford.

Could Jadon Sancho return to Manchester United?

It is quite a possibility that Jadon Sancho might return to Manchester United and even play for the first team again. The idea may baffle some Red Devils fans, who have resigned to the fact that the 23-year-old will never wear their club’s shirt ever again.

The circumstances surrounding the winger have been baffling, as Erik ten Hag banished the attacker from first-team action following a public spat after his non-selection for the Arsenal game. The Manchester United boss recently suggested that Sancho taking the spat online made it worse and thus influenced his decision to banish him altogether.

Sancho has since returned to Borussia Dortmund on a loan deal until the summer, although the chances of the German club keeping him beyond that are slim. Manchester United have already set their price for Sancho if he leaves.

But now they could give him a glimmer of hope to continue his career at Old Trafford. The club are reportedly ready to re-evaluate the winger’s situation and are thinking about reintroducing him into the first team. If that happens, it could probably come at the expense of ten Hag and potentially cost the Dutchman his future.

Is Ten Hag’s future in doubt?

There are many questions about ten Hag’s long-term future at Manchester United. For starters, the involvement of INEOS have started to create ripples around the club with no position certain going forward. There are already links to Antonio Conte, which emerged recently, which would seem like the new management is actively thinking about a replacement for the Dutchman.

Another report stated that INEOS would reduce Ten Hag’s involvement in transfer activity starting the next summer window. All those factors could have a significant impact on the Dutchman’s long-term future, as there are chances he could get the sack in the summer.
