Tottenham still interested in Antonio Nusa

Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on signing 18-year-old Norwegian winger Antonio Nusa from Club Brugge.

A report from Het Nieuwsblad has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur retain an interest in signing Antonio Nusa despite failing to secure an agreement for him in January.

Antonio Nusa Nearly Changed Clubs in January

Brentford managed to agree a €37 million deal with Club Brugge for the highly-rated winger. But the transfer did not go through because of medical complications. The Bees found an issue with a cartilage in his knee, and the move has now been delayed until the summer transfer window.

It will be interesting to see if Brentford are willing to complete the signing at the end of the season. If they decide not to pursue the move, Tottenham could come in for him in the summer. The North London outfit have been tracking the 18-year-old winger for a while, and they could certainly use a talented young attacker like him.

Tottenham Still Want Antonio Nusa

The Norwegian winger will add goals and creativity from the flanks. Nusa is versatile enough to operate on either flank and could prove to be a quality long term addition. If the medical issue with his knee is not a serious one, it could be a deal worth doing for the North London club.

Tottenham have put together an impressive squad, but they need to add more depth in order to truly compete for major trophies. Signing another quality winger should be a top priority for them at the end of the season. Timo Werner will return to his parent club in the summer.

So, Tottenham will be left with Richarlison, Son Heung-min, Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski as their attacking options. Nusa will want to compete at the highest level, and a move to the Premier League will be quite tempting for him. The winger was prepared to join Brentford in January. So, a move to Tottenham is likely to be more appealing for him.

Tottenham are having an impressive season so far, and they could easily secure Champions League qualification for the next season. A top-four finish would make them a more attractive destination for players, and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.

There is no doubt that they have the financial resources to pay the €37 million asking price for the 18-year-old. Nusa is a top-class talent with a bright future ahead of him, and he could easily justify that investment in the coming seasons. Tottenham have employed a free-flowing attacking style of football under Postecoglou, and Nusa could thrive in their attacking system.
