Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly look to sign Rodrygo Goes from Real Madrid to exact revenge for losing Kylian Mbappe to Los Blancos.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Don Diario, Rodrygo Goes is the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain. Les Parisiens will likely lose Kylan Mbappe as a free agent in the summer transfer window, with Real Madrid his potential destination. And the Ligue 1 champions want to sign the Brazilian international to exact revenge for losing Mbappe to Real Madrid.
The Rodrygo Goes Tale
Rodrygo Goes has blown hot and cold since joining Real Madrid from Santos in July 2019. The 23-year-old spent most of his formative years in his homeland, starting his youth career at Ceara Sporting Club before joining Santos. He rose to prominence at that club before Real Madrid came calling.
The Brazilian international has become a regular for his national team but has taken some time to become a pivotal figure for Real Madrid. But he is enjoying an excellent 2023/24 campaign, amassing 12 goals and seven assists in 33 appearances thus far. Meanwhile, Rodrygo’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs.
Reports in the last few months have linked the former Santos wonderkid with Liverpool, who might pursue him to replace Mohamed Salah if the Egyptian international leaves the Merseyside club in the summer transfer window. But he is also a target for Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG Want Rodrygo
PSG’s interest in Rodrygo is understandable. The Ligue 1 are in a spot of bother over the long-term future of Kylian Mbappe, who has entered the final six months of his contract. The French international will unlikely sign a new contract with PSG, with a move to Real Madrid reportedly on the cards.
So, it behoves PSG to scour the market for a replacement, with several candidates emerging as targets. But Rodrygo’s name also features on their wishlist ahead of the summer transfer window. The French giants have been interested in the 23-year-old Brazilian international for a long time.
PSG will look to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid to exact revenge on Los Blancos for signing Mbappe. But it will be interesting to see if the player is open to moving to Paris amid his rising stature at Real Madrid.
