Fulham are reportedly interested in signing the French midfielder Rayan Cherki from Ligue 1 club Lyon.
A report by L’Equipe via Sport Witness has claimed that Rayan Cherki is uninterested in a move to Fulham. The 20-year-old is highly rated around Europe, and he will probably look to join a big club capable of challenging for major trophies.
Rayan Cherki: A Highly-Rated Frenchman
Cherki is a prodigious talent with a big future ahead of him, and he would have been a quality long-term acquisition for Fulham. The West London club could certainly use more creativity and goals in the final third, and the 20-year-old could have improved them going forward.
The technically gifted-attacker is versatile enough to operate as a central attacking midfielder as well as a winger. He could add flair, vision and craft in the final third. It will be interesting to see where the 20-year-old ends up in the near future.
He has been linked with a move away from Lyon for a while, and a number of top European clubs are thought to be monitoring his situation. The player is expected to move on at the end of the season.
Fulham Need to Improve Their Attack
Meanwhile, Fulham should look push for a quality striker as well. Raul Jimenez has not been able to live up to the expectations since joining the West London club, who have looked toothless in the attack since the departure of Aleksandar Mitrovic.
They have been linked with Chelsea striker Armando Broja in recent weeks, and it remains to be seen whether they can agree on a loan deal with their London rivals before the window closes. Broja needs to play regularly and a loan move to Fulham would be ideal for him as well.
Fulham are currently 12th in the league table, and they will want to push for a top half finish. They will need to plug the gaps in their squad and bring in the right additions to improve and finish the season strongly. There is no doubt that they have a quality squad at their disposal and the couple of quality additions in the attack could transform them.
