Arsenal and Liverpool are set to fight it out for Wolves star Rayan Ait-Nouri

According to Football Insider, Premier League heavyweights Liverpool and Arsenal are both readying their move for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Rayan Ait-Nouri in the upcoming 2024 summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old is currently with the Algerian squad at AFCON but is enjoying a fine campaign in the English top flight. Capable of playing anywhere along the left-flank, Ait-Nouri is a dynamic presence going up and down both ends.

He has been at the Molineux since arriving at the Molineux in 2020, originally on loan before the agreement was made permanent a year later. He has since made 97 appearances for the pack, scoring four goals and assisting eight more across all competitions.

Ait-Nouri has enjoyed a sensational season and could be on the move next summer. Arsenal are still a work in process and could do with a dynamic presence on the left flank. Right now, Oleksandr Zinchenko is the first choice in the role but the Ukrainian star has his limitations. An upgrade would certainly take the Gunners on to the next level.

Liverpool are also keen and will need to replace Andy Robertson sooner or later. The Scottish skipper still has years left in him but Ait-Nouri could prove to be his heir for years to come. Given that the Algerian can be a long term solution in the role, the Reds could consider letting go of Kostas Tsimikas who has been inconsistent this season.

Ait-Nouri’s contract at the Molineux runs until 2026 and a summer move could help Wolves bring in the big bucks. Selling top players is nothing new to the club given that they let go of several top stars to avoid a breach of top-flight financial rules.

For the player, a move to The Emirates or Anfield could be the next step in his development.  Arsenal are a team on the rise but Jurgen Klopp is certainly on the right track as far mas Liverpool 2.0 are concerned. Whether the 22-year-old will be the messiah on Merseyside or North London remains to be seen.
