Tottenham begin negotiations to sign Antonio Nusa

Tottenham close to securing priority option for future Johnny Cardoso deal.

Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Club Brugge for Antonio Nusa

Tottenham Hotspur mean business this January and have already landed Timo Werner (On loan) and Radu Dragusin to reinforce their frontline and backline. However, Daniel Levy appears to be far from done as he is now eyeing a sensational swoop for Antonio Nusa.

A full international for the Norwegian national side, Nusa attracted much interest from Chelsea last summer. The Blues’ missed opportunity could be a blessing in disguise for Tottenham Hotspur. According to Nieuwsblad, Spurs are currently in talks with Brugge regarding a January move for the teenager.

The Norwegian wonderkid is swiftly making a name for himself as one of the finest young talents in European football. The 18-year-old came through the ranks at Langhus and Stabaek before moving to Brugge in 2021. He has since shone for the Belgian giants, scoring six goals and assisting two more in 62 games across all competitions.

While talks between the two clubs are still at an early stage, Tottenham are eyeing a deal worth around €30 million. More so, they also appear willing to let Nusa continue in Belgium on loan for the remainder of the 2023/24 season. This could prove to be a win-win for all parties.

Capable of playing anywhere along the frontline, Nusa is a versatile attacker who is capable of making a significant difference upfront. Just 18, he is far from the finished product. However, developing in the Premier League under a manager such as Ange Postecoglou will certainly aid his development.

An excellent dribbler who is also good at picking out passes, Nusa should give Spurs a long-term replacement for Son Heung-min out wide on the left. The South Korean has a few years left in him but his powers are certainly on the wane, flooding in Nusa will ensure Tottenham have a succession plan in place should their skipper falter or move on to another club.

For now, talks are still in their infancy and there is still much work to be done. But we saw with both Werner and Dragusin that Levy can move fast should he choose to. Given his potential, landing Nusa could prove to be a coup for Tottenham in the long run.
