West Ham United need to pay £30-40 million to sign Santiago Gimenez January this month

West Ham United are reportedly keen on signing Santiago Gimenez before the January transfer window closes.

A report from Football Insider has claimed that West Ham United will have to pay between £30-40 million to sign Santiago Gimenez. They will also face competition from clubs like Arsenal, Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Rise of Santiago Gimenez

The Mexican striker has established himself as one of the brightest young attacking talents in European football, and he helped Feyenoord win the Eredivisie title last season. He has been in splendid form this season as well, scoring 20 goals across all competitions.

There is no doubt that the 22-year-old could transform West Ham United in the final third and help them finish the season strongly. The reported £30-40 million asking price seems reasonable for a player of his potential, and Gimenez could develop into a top-class Premier League striker in the near future.

West Ham United Need a Striker

West Ham have improved their squad massively since the departure of Declan Rice. But they still need a reliable goalscorer. Michail Antonio is past his peak, while Danny Ings remains a concern in terms of availability because of his injury problems. Gimenez would be an upgrade on both players, and he could solve West Ham’s goal scoring problems.

The Hammers have been overly dependent on Jarrod Bowen for goals and creativity, and the English winger needs more support in the attack. It will be interesting to see if West Ham can beat their London rivals to his signature. But they want to sign him in the summer transfer window instead.

Santiago Gimenez in Demand

Arsenal need to sign a quality young striker like Santiago Gimenez, especially as an alternative to Gabriel Jesus, who has scored just three goals in the Premier League this season. As for Tottenham, they need to bring in a long-term replacement for Harry Kane who can share the goalscoring burden with Son Heung-min.

Richarlison has not been able to perform at a high level consistently and Tottenham need a better striker. Finally, Fulham sanctioned the departure of Aleksandar Mitrovic at the start of the season. But they have not been able to replace his goalscoring numbers. Raul Jimenez has been quite underwhelming, and the West London club need to aim higher.

There is no doubt that the Mexican striker would improve all four clubs, and it remains to be seen where he ends up. A move to the Premier League will be an exciting step up in his career, and he is likely to be tempted to make the switch.
