Jack Clarke will quit Sunderland if they don’t secure Premier League promotion

Sunderland star Jack Clarke will leave the club if they cannot achieve promotion to the Premier League amid West Ham United links.

According to Football Insider, Jack Clarke is sure to leave Sunderland if the Championship side cannot achieve promotion to the Premier League next season. The winger has attracted plenty of attention from too flight sides as West Ham United are among those interested.

Jack Clarke to leave Sunderland?

Sunderland have found themselves in a promising position in consecutive seasons, as Michael Beale’s side are primed to make it to the play-off spot. The Black Cats missed out on promotion via the playoffs last season but will aim to do one better this time out if they manage to get there.

Not making it to the playoffs or even failing to gain promotion to the Premier League might come at a cost for Sunderland. Star attacker Jack Clarke could reportedly leave the club in that scenario, with some Premier League clubs waiting in the wings for the 13-goal attacker.

Clarke has 13 goals in the Championships in 27 appearances and has already attracted a host of top-flight clubs towards him. West Ham United are keen on the forward, as David Moyes might have seen something that feels like the right fit.

Moyes has been looking for a left winger since the summer, and after the current season, he might offload stars like Said Benrahma to make way. The Hammers face competition from Crystal Palace for Clarke, as the Sunderland star will make a critical decision in the close season.

Jack Clarke is primed for the Premier League.

Clarke has made a name in the Championship, but he has already tasted Premier League football before with Tottenham. He arrived in north London as an 18-year-old but barely made an impact before departing. It’s at Sunderland that he found his rhythm and started performing on a consistent basis.

The 13-goal attacker will have a lot of suitors, even more than the current list that comprises West Ham, Crystal Palace and probably Brentford, as per a few reports. Some other sides might also take a look at him if he keeps performing at the same level for Sunderland in the second part.

Hence, irrespective of whether Sunderland make it to the Premier League next season, Clarke is someone primed to make a significant impact in the top flight.
