Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has been linked with a move away from the Premier League club in recent months.
A report from Fichajes claims that Barcelona are keen on signing the 26-year-old Brazilian midfielder and they would be willing to offer a number of players in a part exchange deal to bring down the asking price for the midfielder.
Barcelona could reportedly offer the likes of Jules Kounde, Andreas Christensen or Raphinha to bring down the asking price for the Newcastle midfielder.
Kounde has been a quality defender in the Spanish league and he has proven his quality with Sevilla and Barcelona over the years. He could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for Newcastle and he would be the ideal long-term partner for Sven Botman.
Similarly, Christensen could help them improve defensively as well. The former Chelsea defender could be tempted to return to the Premier League if there is a concrete proposal on the table. He knows English football well, and he should be able to make an immediate impact with Newcastle.
As far as Raphinha is concerned, Newcastle could certainly use more quality and depth in the wide areas and the Brazilian winger would certainly improve them going forward. He is versatile enough to operate on either flank and he will add goals and technical ability in the final third.
All three players are quality options for the right price and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.
Newcastle United have spent a substantial amount of money to improve their squad in recent seasons. However, they need to balance the books now and they are prepared to cash in on a number of players.
Newcastle are unlikely to agree to a straight swap, and therefore Barcelona would have to agree to a player plus cash deal involving one of the affirmation players. it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
Bruno Guimaraes has been an indispensable asset for the Premier League club since moving to England, and Newcastle will not want to let go of him easily.
