The Bundesliga defender has established himself as one of the best young fullbacks in the game and he could prove to be a quality, long-term acquisition for the West Midlands club.
There is no doubt that the Dutchman could prove to be an upgrade on Matty Cash if Aston Villa managed to sign him at the end of the season. Frimpong has already picked up 17 goal contributions this season with seven goals and 10 assists to his name.
The defender has a £35 million release clause in his contract and Aston Villa certainly have the financial means to get the deal done. The defender could even prove to be a bargain at that price if he manages to continue his development and adapt to the Premier League.
