Eric Dier has reached a verbal agreement with Bayern Munich over a potential transfer as Tottenham Hotspur give the green light to the move.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Tottenham Hotspur are all set to part ways with Eric Dier in the ongoing transfer window. Bayern Munich are ready to sign the 29-year-old utility man, and Spurs have given the green light.

Eric Dier and a Topsy-Turvy Ride at Tottenham

Eric Dier joined the North London club back in the summer of 2014. He has been a great servant of the club and was an integral part of their first team for almost a decade. He started off as a midfielder but has featured in multiple roles over the years. The 29-year-old featured in the heart of the defence for Tottenham last season, but a lot has changed since.

He has gone down the pecking order since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou and only has four appearances for Tottenham this season. The English international wants regular first-team football, and Spurs are ready to cash in on him with his contract running out at the end of the season.

Bundesliga Calling?

Bayern Munich are interested in his services as their manager Thomas Tuchel is a big admirer of the 29-year-old and feels he could be a perfect fit for the club. The German giants wanted to sign him in the summer but failed to reach an agreement on personal terms with the player.

Despite failing in the summer, Bayern are looking to land him in the ongoing window. Tuchel has already spoken to the player and has informed him that he will be used as a centre-back as well as a defensive midfielder. Meanwhile, Dier has reached a verbal agreement with the club over a transfer. He is keen on making the move to Germany and Spurs will not stand in his way.

Bayern Munich have offered him a contract that runs until the summer of 2025, and the transfer fee involved will be less than €5 million. Everything is in place for the transfer to be completed and once the Bundesliga champions make the final decision, we will have an official confirmation of the transfer.
