La Liga club Getafe will reportedly look to poach Real Madrid for 18-year-old Moroccan youth international Yusi.
According to Spanish journalist Jorge C Picon, Yusi is the subject of interest from Getafe. The Azulones want to beat the competition to sign the Real Madrid defensive sensation next year. They aim to repeat the formula that saw Fran Garcia and Miguel Gutierrez succeed after leaving Los Blancos.
Who is Yusi?
Youssef Enriquez Lekhedim, better known as Yusi, is the latest Real Madrid youth prospect to rise to prominence. The fabled La Fabrica youth division has produced many world-class players, including Raul Gonzalez. The last few years have seen many highly-rated left-backs emerging from the academy.
Sergio Reguilon, Miguel Gutierrez, and Fran Garcia have graduated from the Real Madrid youth division. But none of the three players established a foothold in the first-team squad and rose to prominence away from the Santiago Bernabeu. Gutierrez and Garcia have achieved the most success, establishing themselves as two of the best left-backs in La Liga.
Gutierrez has risen in stature so much that he is attracting interest from many high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Fran Garcia rejoined Real Madrid from Rayo Vallecano in the summer transfer window and has been in and out of the starting lineup at the Santiago Bernabeu.
A Move Across La Liga on the Cards?
The next left-back to leave Real Madrid and rise to prominence might be Yusi. The Moroccan youth international has yet to turn professional and turns out for Real Madrid’s Under-19 team. But a move across La Liga might be on the cards for the teenage defensive sensation, with Getafe keen on signing him.
Getafe handed Borja Mayoral a lease on life after he failed to become a regular for Real Madrid. A similar fate might beckon Yusi, although he might be in line for an early rise to prominence. But the Azulones are aware that the 18-year-old has many suitors in La Liga and want to beat the competition to his signature.
It will be interesting to see if other La Liga clubs launch the offensive to sign securing Yusi’s services. For now, a move to Getafe might be on the cards, with the Azulones keen on landing him next year.
