Borussia Dortmund might offer 19-year-old German international Youssoufa Moukoko in the deal to sign Nico Paz from Real Madrid.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Nico Paz is the subject of interest from Borussia Dortmund. The Bundesliga giants are long-term admirers of the Real Madrid midfield prospect. And they are ready to offer 19-year-old German international Youssoufa Moukoko in the deal to sign the young Argentine.
Who is Nico Paz?
Nico Paz is the son of former Argentine international Pablo Paz. The 19-year-old has been with Real Madrid since July 2016, rising through the ranks at the Spanish club before turning professional last year. He has been a regular for Real Madrid Castilla and is enjoying an excellent 2023/24 campaign.
The Argentine youth international has amassed eight goals and one assist in 20 appearances in all competitions for different Real Madrid teams this season. Nico Paz has also scored his first goal for the Real Madrid first team, finding the back of the net in the UEFA Champions League.
But with first-team opportunities coming few and far between thus far in his professional career, high-profile suitors are ready to pounce. One of these might be Borussia Dortmund, who first considered signing Brahim Diaz before turning to the 19-year-old midfield prospect.
Borussia Dortmund Keen on Nico Paz
The Bundesliga giants were also keen on signing Nico Paz from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. But a move did not materialise, with the youngster remaining at Real Madrid. The decision has paid off, with the teenage sensation growing in stature at the Santiago Bernabeu. But Borussia Dortmund will look to sign the player again next summer.
The Black and Yellows might have an ace up their sleeve, as they are ready to offer Youssoufa Moukoko in the deal to land him. Interestingly, the 19-year-old German international has been on Real Madrid’s radar for a long time. And with a move for Kylian Mbappe not certain, Moukoko can bolster the Real Madrid attack.
But the Merengues want to control Nico Paz’s future and will either ship him off on loan or include a buyback clause if they agree to a permanent deal. So, it will be interesting to see if a swap or part-exchange arrangement sees the light of day.
