Jean-Clair Todibo has been linked with the move to Tottenham Hotspur recently.
A report from TeamTalk claims that the North London outfit are now preparing a formal offer to sign the 23-year-old defender who has been linked with Manchester United as well.
Tottenham are keen on beating Manchester United to his signature and they believe that they have a chance to beat the Red Devils in the transfer race.
Tottenham need to bring in defensive reinforcements and Todibo would be a quality addition for them. The French defender has shown his quality with OGC Nice and the French national team recently. He has the quality to thrive in the Premier League as well.
It is no secret that Spurs need to plug the gaps in the defensive unit in order to do well this season and Todibo could help them push for Champions League qualification. Key players Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are sidelined with injuries right now. Tottenham cannot get through the remainder of the season without bringing in a quality central defender. A move to the Premier League will be a step up in the French defender’s career and he will look to prove himself in England. Tottenham have shown tremendous improvement since the arrival of a new manager and the opportunity to play for them could be an attractive option for most players.
Regular football in the Premier League will help Todibo improve as a player and cement his place as a regular starter for the French national team as well.
It will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually. Manchester United need defensive reinforcement as well. Players like Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire have been linked with moves away from the club and the Red Devils will have to replace them adequately.
The 23-year-old French defender would be a solid acquisition for both English clubs, and they have to financial muscle to get the deal done as well. It will be interesting to see who manages to secure an agreement with OGC Nice in the coming weeks.
