Juni Calafat reportedly wants Real Madrid to push for the signature of Estevao Willian, valued at €60 million by Palmeiras.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Juni Calafat has zeroed in on the next Brazilian wonderkid he wants Real Madrid to sign. Los Blancos’ chief scout wants the club to secure the services of Estevao Willian. Meanwhile, Palmeiras will demand around €60 million to part ways with the Brazilian wonderkid.
Who is Estevao Willian?
Estevao Willian is among the latest attacking sensations to emerge from the conveyor belt of prodigies in his homeland. A native of Franca, the 16-year-old joined Palmeiras from Cruzeiro two years ago and has come leaps and bounds since then. He has risen through the ranks at the club before making his first-team debut this year.
The Brazilian wonderkid managed 12 minutes of action in his debut and should enjoy more game time in the next two years. But Estevao’s time with Palmeiras will likely end in 2025 after he turns 18, with many high-profile clubs in Europe keen on signing him. Real Madrid might be a potential destination for him.
Recent reports have linked the teenage sensation with many Premier League bigwigs, with Chelsea in good position to sign him. Estevao is also a target for Barcelona, although a move to Catalonia might be in jeopardy due to the club’s financial situation, with Palmeiras valuing him at €60 million.
Real Madrid Calling?
As for Real Madrid, the Merengues have a rich history of pursuing highly-rated prodigies in South America. Such an outlook has brought them current first-team regulars like Vinicius Junior, Federico Valverde, and Rodrygo. In addition, Endrick will move to Spain in July 2024 after he turns 18, with Real Madrid already sealing the deal to land him.
Endrick’s younger teammate Estevao might be the next in line to move to Real Madrid. Juni Calafat is pushing Florentino Perez to secure the youngster’s services. The Spanish giants have the financial muscle to afford Palmeiras’s asking price of €60 million.
In addition, with Estevao being a versatile attacker, he can help Real Madrid create an all Brazilian offensive unit for the coming decade. But recent reports have claimed that he is keen on joining Barcelona. However, Barcelona’s inability to raise the funds might compel him to seek alternate solutions.
