Newcastle United are reportedly willing to fork out €25 million to sign highly-rated Argentine winger Matias Soule from Juventus.
According to a report by Italian outlet Tuttosport, Matias Soule is the subject of interest from Newcastle United. The highly-rated Argentine winger might leave Juventus in the January transfer window. Meanwhile, the Magpies are ready to cough up €25 million to secure his services this winter.
Matias Soule: A Rising Name in Europe
Matias Soule spent most of his formative years in his homeland, rising through the ranks at Velez Sarsfield. The 20-year-old arrived in Europe in January 2020 and has come leaps and bounds in the last four years. He joined Juventus and made his mark in age-group football in Italy but has yet to establish a foothold in the first team.
The highly-rated Argentine winger made his first-team debut in the first half of the 2021/22 season. But a lack of regular game time meant the Bianconeri hauled him off on loan to Frosinone this past summer for the 2023/24 campaign. And Soule has made his mark for the Serie A club this term.
The youngster has amassed six goals and one assist in 16 appearances this term, becoming a pivotal figure for Frosinone. Meanwhile, Soule’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of many high-profile clubs across Europe. These suitors, including Newcastle United, want to prise him away in the January transfer window.
Newcastle United Keen on Matias Soule
Newcastle United can do with a new winger in the January transfer window amid the agonising injury crisis. The Magpies have suffered due to fitness issues to pivotal first-team regulars this term, with the problem contributing to their ouster from the UEFA Champions League and the EFL Cup.
For Newcastle United to finish in the top four this season, January signings will be crucial. Matias Soule has thus emerged as a viable target for the Tyneside outfit. And they are ready to table a bid worth €25 million to land the highly-rated Argentine winger.
It is unclear if €25 million will do the trick for Newcastle United. The Magpies face stiff competition for Soule’s services, with Crystal Palace and Tottenham also interested. It will be interesting to see if Newcastle United can win the race to sign him this winter.
