Premier League heavyweights Arsenal are reportedly tracking the progress of 17-year-old Rangers goalkeeping sensation Mason Munn.
According to a report by Football Insider, Mason Munn is the subject of interest from Arsenal. The 17-year-old goalkeeping sensation is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs. Meanwhile, the Gunners have been regularly tracking the youngster’s progress at Rangers.
Who is Mason Munn?
Mason Munn is one of the brightest young prospects in Great Britain. A native of Donaghadee in Northern Ireland, the teenage wonderkid spent most of his formative years in his homeland before arriving in Scotland last summer. Rangers beat several Premier League clubs to secure his services, signing him from Glentoran FC.
The 17-year-old currently turns out for the Under-18 side at Rangers but has also made a couple of appearances for the club’s reserve team. The Northern Irish goalkeeping sensation has captured the attention of many well-known Premier League clubs with his exploits between the sticks, with Arsenal among his prospective suitors.
Is Mason Munn Headed To Arsenal?
The Gunners are renowned for constantly scouring the market for the best young prospects in the world. The forays have increased under the tutelage of Mikel Arteta, who has overseen the youth revolution at the Emirates. While first-team opportunities have not come at a premium, Bukayo Saka’s stock has skyrocketed under the Arsenal boss.
Meanwhile, the Gunners have recently shown interest in many highly-rated prospects. Recent reports have linked Arsenal with Caylan Vickers, although he is closing in on joining Real Madrid. Mason Munn is now the latest young prospect to emerge on Arsenal’s radar.
The report has claimed that the North London giants have regularly scouted Munn in action for Rangers. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s interest in Munn is hardly surprising, considering the uncertainty surrounding Aaron Ramsdale’s future. While the 17-year-old goalkeeping sensation will unlikely become the first-choice shot-stopper for Arsenal anytime soon, he can be David Raya’s successor in a few years.
But Arsenal will face stiff competition from several Premier League clubs for Mason Munn’s signature. It will be interesting to see if the Gunners win the race to sign the Northern Irishman from Rangers.
