Arsenal are all set to battle it out with Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur for the signatures of Genoa defender Radu Dragusin.
According to a report by Calciomercato, Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United are all interested in the services of Radu Dragusin. The 21-year-old centre-back has put in some impressive performances of late and he has attracted a lot of attention from across Europe.
Dragusin joined the Juventus youth academy in the summer of 2018. He came up the ranks at the club and made it to their first team in the winter of 2021. But, he failed to establish himself in the Juventus first team and was often out on loan.
He joined Genoa in the summer of 2022 on a season-long loan. The 21-year-old played a big part in helping them gain promotion to the top flight. And, on the back of their impressive promotion campaign, they signed him on a permanent basis last summer.
Genoa are now looking to avoid relegation on their return to the top flight. And, they are currently 15th on the points table with 14 points in 13 outings. Dragusin is an integral part of their team and he could play a vital role in helping them avoid the drop.
But, his recent performances have attracted a lot of attention and there are clubs that could prise him away from Genoa in the winter transfer window. Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are all keen on having him in their ranks.
Mikel Arteta wants to sign a young defender who can help them in the long run and the 21-year-old could be a great fit for the club. As far as Spurs are concerned, they are looking for more depth in the centre of the park. Recent injuries have hampered them and they want to ensure they have enough in their tanks to get past this season in the best possible way.
Meanwhile, Eddie Howe is also looking for depth and with three of his centre-backs already 30 or above, he is also looking to prepare for the future. Genoa are well aware of the amount of interest in the 21-year-old’s services and have set a high asking price of €30 million.
The Italian club do not want to deprive themselves of the opportunity of having the Romanian international in their ranks as they look to survive in Serie A. As a result, they have set a high asking price for the winter. But, given the financial strength of English clubs, anything can happen.
