Scottish international Kieran Tierney is all set to part ways with Arsenal on a permanent basis after the end of the season.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Kieran Tierney is expected to part ways with Arsenal after the end of the season. The 26-year-old has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular under Mikel Arteta and is currently out on loan at Real Sociedad.

Tierney came through the ranks at Celtic. He made it to their first team in the winter of 2016 and after a few years with their senior team, he made a move to Arsenal for a reported fee of £25 million. He had a great start to life in England and the 26-year-old was expected to be one of the mainstays of the team a few years down the line.

He has featured in 124 matches for the north London club and has even contributed towards 19 goals. The Scottish full-back was already a fan favourite but slowly he went down the pecking order at the club. And, currently, he is not a part of Arteta’s plan.

As a result, the Spanish manager decided to let him join Real Sociedad on a season-long loan. Tierney had a great start to life in Spain and early signs suggested he would be able to revive himself. But, unfortunately, he picked up a serious injury.

He is expected to be back on the pitch soon and will have his opportunities. While Sociedad have considered the idea of signing him on a permanent basis, the report suggests the chances of that happening are low.

Tierney is expected to return to his parent club after the end of the season. But, he is unlikely to have a place in Arteta’s setup. As a result, the 26-year-old is expected to push for a move away from the club.

Celtic and Aston Villa are two clubs keen on having him in their ranks. Both have been linked with the 26-year-old for a while now. His childhood club are ready to bring him back to the club. They feel he could be a great asset for them given the kind of experience he has gathered since he left them back in 2019.

The Scottish are quite keen on having him in their ranks but they will have to strike a deal with Arsenal who will look to recoup the £25 million they invested in the 26-year-old back in the day.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa have been keen on having him in their ranks for a while and they will be willing to fork out £25 million to land him at the club. Unai Emery is keen on having a new left-sided full-back in his ranks and Tierney could be an ideal fit for his system.
