Arsenal and Newcastle United are interested in 27-year-old Borussia Dortmund star Julian Brandt, a target for Liverpool.
According to a report by Daily Mirror, Arsenal and Newcastle United are keen on having Julian Brandt in their ranks. The 27-year-old attacking midfielder has been a consistent performer for Borussia Dortmund over the years. And, his impressive performances have attracted a lot of attention from across Europe.
After a successful stint at Bayer Leverkusen, Brandt joined the team in yellow in the summer of 2019 in a £22 million deal. He has since gone from strength to strength. The German international has featured in 185 matches for Dortmund, and he has contributed towards 75 goals.
He has been integral to their plans over the years. In the ongoing season, the 27-year-old has 11 goal contributions in his 16 outings. The former Bayer Leverkusen talisman is on the radar of multiple top clubs from the Premier League.
Newcastle United are one of the clubs interested in the German international. They have watched him up close in their UEFA Champions League encounters against Dortmund. And, the Magpies feel he could be a great addition to their ranks.
Eddie Howe is looking for depth in the centre of the park, and Brandt could be a great addition to their ranks. Meanwhile, Arsenal are also interested in the 27-year-old. The Gunners have been tracking him for a while now, and they could make a move in the near future.
While Dortmund have refused to consider any bids for the German midfielder, both Newcastle and Arsenal are determined to have him in their ranks. Brandt penned down a new deal last summer and his contract runs until the summer of 2026. Despite that, English clubs are willing to try their luck in the winter.
But, the German club are unlikely to let him leave midway through the season, as they are pushing for major titles. The interest in the 27-year-old is unlikely to go away, and clubs are expected to return in the summer. Liverpool are also linked with the German international.
Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of the Borussia Dortmund midfielder and wanted to bring him to the Merseyside club back in 2017, even before he had joined Dortmund. He might have failed back then, but Klopp still remains interested and could make a move for the former Leverkusen midfielder in the near future.
