Tottenham Hotspur have joined Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign Brazilian midfielder Andre Trindade in January.
A report from the Brazilian publication Lance has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur will now compete with Arsenal and Liverpool for the 20-year-old Fluminense midfielder Andre after monitoring him in the Copa Libertadores final.
Andre was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League during the summer transfer window. But Fluminense were not keen on selling him back then. They wanted to keep the key player player at the club for the Copa Libertadores final. Even the 22-year-old wanted to stay at the club until at least January.
Andre is expected to move on during the January transfer window, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can beat the competition from their Premier League rivals and sign him. Recent reports suggested Arsenal and Liverpool watched him in action in the final.
The defensive midfielder is highly rated in South America, and he has a big future ahead of him. He could develop into a top-class player for Tottenham if he joins the club. The North London outfit will need to replace Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and the 22-year-old would be a solid addition.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have been linked with the player as well. The Gunners signed Declan Rice for a substantial amount of money in the summer transfer window. But Thomas Partey and Jorginho face uncertain futures at the Emirates heading into the January transfer window. So, Andre is a viable target for Arsenal.
As far as Liverpool are concerned, they are desperate to sign a quality defensive midfielder. They are yet to replace the likes of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson. They tried to sign a couple of defensive midfielders during the summer transfer window, but those moves did not materialise.
Liverpool have had to use Alexis Mac Allister in a holding role so far this season. The Argentine international is more suited to a creative role and signing a specialist defensive midfielder would give him the freedom to play his natural game.

Andre would be a superb fit for Jurgen Klopp’s midfield, and the move to the Premier League would be a major step up in his career as well. All three clubs would be an exciting destination for him, and it remains to be seen where he ends up.
