Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto, a target for Arsenal.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed to Give Me Sport that it will be difficult for Manchester United to sign Pedro Neto, a target for Arsenal, midway through the season. Apparently, the 23-year-old is likely to be very expensive, and the Red Devils have had no contact to sign him so far.
Romano believes that it will be very difficult for any club to reach an agreement with Wolves for the winger in January. Neto has been in outstanding form this season, and Wolves will not want to sell him midway through the season. They will struggle to replace a player of his quality in January, and any transfer might have to wait until the summer transfer window.
Neto has seven assists in ten Premier league matches so far. So, it is no surprise that the top clubs, including Manchester United, are keen on securing his services. The 23-year-old is still quite young and is likely to improve with coaching and experience.
He has all the attributes to develop into a top-class winger. So, Manchester United could certainly use someone like him in the attack. The Red Devils have spent substantial amounts of money on players like Jadon Sancho and Antony in the last two years.
Both players were expected to add creativity, pace and flair from the wide areas. However, the two signings have not worked out, and Manchester United are in need of reinforcements in the wide areas. They should look to sign a quality winger in the coming months, and Pedro Neto certainly fits the profile.
Manchester United have had a disappointing season by their standards so far, and they will be hoping to return to the top four and secure Champions League qualification at the very least. But Neto is also a target for Arsenal, who have been laying the groundwork for his signing. While the Portuguese international might not be a first-choice starter, he can offer alternatives to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

Meanwhile, signing the right players in January could help Manchester United bounce back strongly. But it will be interesting to see whether they decide to test Wolves’ resolve in January. The 23-year-old winger could be tempted to join a big club like Manchester United, and the Red Devils will hope that he can push for a move. But he might not want to leave Wolves in January.
