Arsenal will happily cough up €20 million to sign 23-year-old French full-back Sacha Boey from Galatasaray in 2024.
According to a report by Turkish outlet Sporx, Sacha Boey is the subject of interest from Arsenal. The Gunners are keen on signing an offensive-minded full-back in a transfer window in 2024. And they are ready to shell out €20 million to prise the French defender away from Galatasaray.
Sacha Boey has come leaps and bounds since moving to Galatasaray from Stade Rennais in July 2021. The 23-year-old spent his formative years in his homeland, passing through the academies at FC Romainville and Red Star FC before graduating from the youth division at Stade Rennais in 2019.
However, the French full-back did not establish a foothold in the first-team squad at the Ligue 1 club. So, he went abroad, moving to Turkey in search of regular game time. And joining Galatasaray has done wonders for Boey’s career, with the player establishing himself as one of the best full-backs in the Super Lig.
A mainstay at the back for Galatasaray, Boey has already made 18 appearances thus far this season for them. Meanwhile, the Frenchman’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile Premier League clubs. These include the North London outfit Arsenal.
Boey’s name has featured on Arsenal’s wishlist of right-back targets for a long time. The Gunners remain interested in the 23-year-old French full-back and recently decided to scout him again. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s eagerness to sign Boey is understandable, even though Ben White has excelled as a right-back.
Arsenal even signed Jurrien Timber to compete with White, while Takehiro Tomiyasu is an option for the position. But Mikel Arteta has been adamant about signing an offensive-minded right-back, with Boey being a target. And the Premier League heavyweights are ready to meet his asking price of €20 million.
The report claims that Arsenal will happily fork out €20 million to prise Boey away from Galatasaray. But a move midway through the 2023/24 season will be hard to execute, considering Galatasaray will be in contention to win the Super Lig title. So, it will be interesting to see if the 23-year-old French full-back leaves the Turkish giants anytime soon.
