Celtic are looking to re-sign Jota from Al Ittihad in the winter transfer window amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Celtic have entered the race for the services of Jota. The Scottish club are ready to re-sign the 24-year-old in the winter after having sold him to Al-Ittihad in the summer. But, they are not the only one interested in his services, with Tottenham Hotspur also keen on having him in their ranks.
Jota came through the ranks at Benfica before joining Celtic in the summer of 2021. It was an initial loan deal that saw him join the Scottish club. And, after an impressive spell, the move was made permanent in the summer of 2022.
He featured in 83 matches for them and contributed towards 54 goals. Last season, the 24-year-old contributed towards 27 goals and helped the club win three titles. His impressive performances resulted in a lot of interest from across the globe.
Eventually, Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad managed to acquire his services. They paid £25 million to acquire his services, and he was expected to play a big part in the 2022/23 season. But, the 24-year-old was left out of their Saudi Pro League squad as Al-Ittihad ended up signing nine foreign players while they are only allowed to register eight in the league.
While Jota can still feature for them in the Asian Champions League, the player is not happy with the situation. And, his representatives are talking about terminating his contract. Meanwhile, there is a real possibility of him leaving the club in the winter. And, this is where Celtic and Tottenham Hotspur come in.
The Scottish club are ready to bring him back at the club, and they have let the player know about their desire. He enjoyed a lot of success at his former club, and they feel he could continue where he left last season.
Meanwhile, Ange Postecoglou wants to bring the 24-year-old to Tottenham Hotspur. The Australian has worked with him in the past, and he feels Jota could help their cause as they look to challenge for the league title.

Spurs already have a lot of options out wide in Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski, Brennan Johnson, Manor Solomon and Bryan Gil. As a result, Jota will have to battle it out for a place in the starting XI. On the other hand, he will be a guaranteed starter at Celtic. As a result, it will be interesting to see which club he ends up joining in the winter if Al-Ittihad allow him to leave.
