La Liga giants Sevilla are reportedly still interested in signing 18-year-old Spanish midfielder Stefan Bajcetic from Liverpool.
A report from Fichajes has claimed that La Liga outfit Sevilla are keen on signing 18-year-old midfield sensation Stefan Bajcetic from Liverpool and that the player is reportedly valued at €15 million.
Bajcetic has developed into one of the most promising young players at Liverpool, and the Reds will not want to lose him any time soon. The Spaniard has all the attributes to develop into a top-class midfielder for Liverpool, and he could be the ideal long-term replacement for Fabinho at the club.
Liverpool failed to sign a quality defensive midfielder during the summer transfer window despite cashing in on players like Fabinho and Jordan Henderson. Bajcetic has shown that he has the ability to step up and fill that void in the midfield.
The Reds signed players like Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch, and Wataru Endo. However, they need to bring in someone who can protect the central defenders and break up the opposition attacks.
Bajcetic has shown that he is capable of donning that role for Liverpool in the coming seasons. He is highly rated at the Premier League club, and Jurgen Klopp will want to mould him into a world-class player in the coming seasons.
While there is no doubt that the 18-year-old is a prodigious talent and the continued interest from Sevilla is hardly a surprise, Liverpool are under no pressure to sell him. So, the Spanish outfit will find it very difficult to convince the English club.
Liverpool are looking to put together a formidable squad capable of challenging for league titles and UEFA Champions League trophies in the coming seasons. So, they need to hold onto their best young prospects. The Reds have also decided not to loan out Jarell Quansah.
Bajcetic is enjoying reasonable game time at Anfield, and it would be quite surprising if he decided to force an exit. The midfielder will want to continue his development with regular football under Klopp, and he will look to establish himself as a regular starter for the club in the coming seasons.
